The school in the Central Plateau of Haiti was built years ago by another ministry with the invaluable support of Chestnut Mountain Church in Flowery Branch, GA. Through their dedication and resources, a large, two-story building was constructed specifically to serve as an educational facility for the local community. Over the years, this school has grown significantly, now catering to more than 400 students who range from Pre-K to 9th grade. The students follow a government-based curriculum tailored to their respective grade levels, ensuring that they receive a comprehensive education. Those who successfully pass the final examination required for graduation from the 9th grade are provided with opportunities to further their education in higher learning institutions, which opens doors for their futures.

The school operates for 11 months out of the year, providing a structured learning environment. Classes are held from Monday through Thursday, with students only attending half a day on Friday. One of the essential components of the school’s program is the provision of a lunch for the students, which typically consists of a nutritious meal of rice and beans. Pastor Accilien is instrumental in coordinating this effort, as he receives the food from another agency. We are genuinely appreciative of his efforts to secure this nourishment, especially considering the limited resources of our small ministry. Without external support, it would be challenging to provide adequate meals for the children.
During our last mission trip to the school, our team had the exciting opportunity to introduce the students to the sport of basketball. We brought along a basketball goal and three basketballs, and the enthusiasm from the students was unreal! It gave a whole new meaning to March Madness. They thoroughly enjoyed the new activity, which added a fun dimension to their physical education. Furthermore, thanks to a generous donation, we were also able to provide soccer goals for the students. For several years, we had been supplying soccer balls, but the children could only imagine the thrill of scoring goals as their playtime often involved kicking the ball into the woods without any proper targets. Now, with the new goals in place, their games have transformed into a more engaging and structured experience. We see their joy and excitement, which truly reflects the positive impact of even small contributions. Praise God for these wonderful developments!
In addition to these exciting activities, Impacting Haiti plays a critical role in the school by paying the salaries of 40 dedicated personnel, including teachers, cooks, and custodians, each month. Their commitment is vital to the smooth operation of the school and the welfare of the students. We are profoundly grateful for the contributions that make this possible. Without the generous support from donors and partners, the livelihood of many individuals in the community—including the staff and students—would be at risk. The impact of this assistance extends beyond mere financial means; it builds hope and fosters a brighter future for the children of this small village in Haiti.
