The Church

Only a year ago, they were meeting in a small tin and pole building. From inside, parishioners could view the sky through the tin roof and walls. Of course, rain ruined anything left inside the church. On Sundays, people sat outside because there were no seats inside. Through the generous giving from Camp Pickney Baptist Church in Folkston, Georgia, a new cinder block church was built. Their first service was held in the fall of 2024.

Pastor Tercichrist Accilien leads the growing congregation in their journey to follow Christ. They have several revivals each year. And even though Haitians have very little, they still bring their offerings. We were blessed to watch even the smallest children bring their offerings. They are training them to follow God’s Word, even though they are not wealthy. The widow and the mite come to mind. God has honored this little church. He has protected them.

Voodoo is very real in Haiti. It is a belief that is as old as the country. It is still practiced today. We have learned that the gangs are all led by Voodoo priests.

Please pray for the people of Haiti. Pray that God will protect the innocent and that He will bring the evil to an end. We pray that those who are hurting people will come to justice.
